What is VisualCat?
- VisualCat is the University of Delaware's portal to its digital image collections
that require controlled access for digital rights management.
-
- University members may access UD's digital collections for research and instructional purposes.
Others may need to obtain access permission from a collection's curator.
[List of collections.]
-
- Faculty and departmental curators may use VisualCat to create and manage their
restricted-access collections.
-
- Before viewing the collections, see the brief
online tutorial
.
-
- For information on research and pedagogical uses of VisualCat, contact

Which collections can be viewed?
- VisualCat's initial holdings include UD's primary collections requiring controlled access.
These are the University Museums Collection, the African American Art Collection, the
Mineralogical Collection, and the Art History Department's Visual Resources Collection.
Select the List Collections menu item for descriptions of VisualCat's current holdings.
-
- You can also use VisualCat's viewing tools to browse collections at other academic
institutions, museums, and libraries. These
shared collections
represent a wide range of topics having artistic, historical, cartographic and sociological interest.
